In 1988, Roger Cleveland consulted with a number of Tour professionals and built the 588 wedge based on their feedback. The wedge would go on to win hundreds of PGA Tour events and had dozens of titles while becoming an incredibly popular wedge within the golf market.

Now, with the same shape and standards, you can purchase a limited-edition three-pack of 588 wedges. Each wedge is designed and ground to Roger’s original specifications and will come in 52, 56 and 60-degree lofts. All of the wedges will have a chrome finish and will be delivered in a premium collector’s box with a brushed brass plaque.

Only 588 sets were produced, so these will be available on a very limited basis and will likely go quickly.

The wedges will have the iconic shaping of the past, but Cleveland brought them into the future with modern innovations. The 588 wedges will feature Z-Alloy, a proprietary steel with better feel and more consistency.

MAINFRAME FACE

Using a multi-step AI computing process, we simulated thousands of the most common strikes across the club face, emphasized the impact locations, and evaluated the performance characteristics.

Then, based on our findings, we created a variable thickness face design that enlarged and reshaped the sweet spot for boosted ball speeds across the entire striking area. Inside the clubhead, AI helped us figure out the best location for placement of unique weight pads for maximum forgiveness.

FULL-FACE GROOVES

For the first time ever in an Iron, HALO XL features full-face grooves, so you can step up, swing, and send it with serious spin on every shot. This hosel-to-toe groove configuration performs no matter where you strike the ball. Plus, HALO XL Full-Face features a striking area that’s up to 20 percent larger than last generation.

ALIGNMENT LINES

HALO XL Full-Face features a new, two-groove alignment system for reliable, consistent aim. Two thicker, white grooves on the bottom of the face help you keep the face square at address, centered behind the ball, and in-line with your target. The shorter, lower groove promotes proper ball position alignment, while the longer groove above it helps align your clubhead to your target.

HYDRAZIP

HydraZip for HALO XL Irons uses a dynamic blast system designed to maximize spin in wet or dry conditions, and from anywhere around the green. This proprietary spin technology ensures consistent performance in all conditions and from any lie.

In lower lofts (4i–7i), we use a rougher face blast to minimize excess spin for improved carry distances. Meanwhile, high-lofted clubs (8i–SW) receive a slightly smoother blast, to promote better spin consistency.

XL HEAD DESIGN

THREE SOLE TRANSITION

HALO XL uses a three-sole system designed to fit the differing long-, mid-, and short-Iron swings. Action Mass CB places an 8-gram counterweight in the end of the shaft near the very top of your grip. The feel of added weight in your hands helps the club seem lighter, promoting a more stable, controlled backswing. It also helps promote a more inside swing path, squarer club face through impact, and, ultimately, straighter shots.

At its core, the Cottonwood 2 design remains one of the most trusted shapes in golf. The slightly wider flange provides a subtle increase in forgiveness compared to traditional blades, while still maintaining the compact, tour-preferred look better players demand. It frames the ball beautifully at address, offering both confidence and control.

What separates the Elite Series from standard models is the level of refinement.
