Cleveland is reintroducing a legend to the market. The 588 wedge is back in a limited capacity, now with modern updates but the same iconic shape that made the wedge so popular.

In 1988, Roger Cleveland consulted with a number of Tour professionals and built the 588 wedge based on their feedback. The wedge would go on to win hundreds of PGA Tour events and had dozens of titles while becoming an incredibly popular wedge within the golf market.

Now, with the same shape and standards, you can purchase a limited-edition three-pack of 588 wedges. Each wedge is designed and ground to Roger’s original specifications and will come in 52, 56 and 60-degree lofts. All of the wedges will have a chrome finish and will be delivered in a premium collector’s box with a brushed brass plaque.

Only 588 sets were produced, so these will be available on a very limited basis and will likely go quickly.

The wedges will have the iconic shaping of the past, but Cleveland brought them into the future with modern innovations. The 588 wedges will feature Z-Alloy, a proprietary steel with better feel and more consistency.

The wedges will also have HydraZip, a unique system of face blasts and laser-milled lines formulated to maximize spin in wet conditions, as well as ZipCore that replaces heavier material in the heel and hosel to shift the center of gravity. Finally, the wedges will also be equipped with UltiZip, which gives it sharper grooves that make room for grass, sand or water to clear the impact zone and create more spin.

The origin of the 588 wedge was to make the best wedge possible at a tour-caliber level and Roger Cleveland was able to accomplish that feat back in 1988. You now have the opportunity to own an iconic wedge from the past that fits your game in the present.

HydraZip

HydraZip is a unique system of face blasts and lasermilled lines formulated to maximize spin performance under wet conditions. This technology is dynamically configured by loft groupings, which helps balance spin across lofts and maximize spin in adverse conditions.

ZipCore

This low-density core technology replaces heavier material in the heel and hosel area with a lightweight, low-density, vibration-dampening material. This proprietary core allows us to shift the Center of Gravity closer to where you strike the ball, while simultaneously adding MOI.

UltiZip
