A genuine piece of Scotty Cameron history.

Produced during the late 1990s, the Art of Putting Newport represents one of the early generations of the design that helped establish Scotty Cameron as one of golf’s most celebrated putter makers.

Precision milled from a solid block of carbon steel, this Newport features the model’s traditional rounded blade profile, softened bumpers and plumbing neck. The design produces approximately quarter-toe hang, making it particularly suitable for golfers with a slight-to-moderate arc in their putting stroke.

This example is especially desirable because of its black oxide finish. Most Art of Putting Newports were produced with an Oil Can finish, while black oxide versions are considerably less common. The head features the distinctive “Scotty Cameron – The Art of Putting” face engraving, Titleist branding in the cavity, vertical Cameron neck engraving and Newport crown detailing on the sole.

The original finish has developed visible wear and patina over time, giving the putter the authentic appearance collectors value in an early carbon-steel Cameron. Whether purchased as a playable classic or displayed as part of a collection, this is a special example from an important era in Scotty Cameron history.

The Art of Putting Newport was produced in 1998 and 1999. While the model is generally associated with Scotty Cameron’s Oil Can finish, a smaller number were made with a black oxide finish, making examples such as this particularly appealing to collectors. The Newport’s one-piece carbon-steel construction was hand-ground, hand-shaped and hand-polished to deliver its famously soft contours and responsive feel.
